We hope this website provides you with a glimpse of the unique, K-12 Catholic education available in Beloit, Kansas and surrounding areas, for more than 140 years. St. John’s continues to honor the dreams of our founding fathers to inspire and teach our youth from an authentic, Catholic world view in communion with the Magesterium of the Church. At the same time, we are committed to remaining on the forefront of today's educational advances. Our students graduate with the tools needed to be successful, thriving members of society, and with the empowerment to be light to a world so desperately in need of the Gospel.
We encourage you to explore our website and schedule a visit. We would love to share the unique opportunities and advantages a St. John’s education has to offer. In the meantime, meet a few members of our school family.

"In 2009, we had been in the Wichita area for about 12 years and felt like that was where we would stay, but God prompted our hearts to consider a move to Beloit. Fourteen months later, we had sold our home and moved to Beloit so our 5 children between ages 2 and 16 could be in St. John’s Catholic Schools. Dean graduated from St. John’s in the 1980’s, and we had family in Beloit, but it wasn’t nostalgia that brought us to Beloit and St. John’s. We saw change happening in the St. John’s schools to emphasize authentic Catholic teaching in a school that provided not only a high quality education, but did so in a close-knit environment surrounded by a solid Catholic faith foundation where the Catholic faith is emphasized, taught and lived out on a daily basis. Prior to coming to St. John’s, we attended mass on Sundays, holidays, holy days and taught CCD classes on Wednesday nights. We felt we were doing what we could to pass on our faith, but when we honestly looked at the time spent on formal faith teaching, we realized our children were getting roughly 25 hours a year in formal Catholic Christian religious education, even less if there were weather cancellations, sickness or other activities that intervened and took some of that precious time away. We believed that our #1 task as parents was to help them get to heaven—to pass on the faith to them—but how could we spend only 25 hours a year if that was truly important to us? We had to admit, we could use some help! We compared 25 hours a year to being in a good Catholic education classroom environment for roughly 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, 9 months of the year where there is formal religious study every day. Add to that having faith be a part of their extracurricular activities, out of school activities, etc. For us, the answer was pretty clear. Through prayer, God opened our hearts and minds to the possibility, and provided the opportunity that St. John’s Catholic schools offer. We are very grateful!" - Dean & Amy Gengler |

"We have seen a major difference within the first year & half of our children attending St. John’s. They adore their teachers, enjoy learning all the subjects and amaze us when they share what they’ve learned in their religion classes. Part of the school’s motto is that ‘Jesus Christ is the reason behind this school’ and we are so proud to have children learning, living, and modeling their love for Jesus. This school & parish community will leave a lasting legacy in preparing our family for Heaven."
"In a world full of uncertainty, it is one of our greatest gifts to live in a community full of guarantees. We moved to Beloit, motivated by a desire to have Catholic education available for our six children. Little did we know this community would walk us through a cancer journey of our youngest child, support our family business, embrace our children in a community of faith and fellowship, and provide a home for us to receive the outpouring of Grace in the Sacraments. The St. John the Baptist community is a hidden gem in the Midwest! Our family wouldn't want to be anywhere else."
