6th Grade: Introduction to Sacred Scripture, concentrating on the Covenants, encouraging a more profound understanding of the context and a deeper love of what is being read. Additionally, various faith-based topics are introduced, students are invited to take their spiritual lives seriously (specifically prayer and Sacramental lives).

7th Grade: Introduction to Catholicism, provides a broad overview of various Catholic topics, such as the Trinity, Scripture, Sacraments, Prayer, etc. Each student is introduced to higher-level thinking regarding their personal, spiritual, and Sacramental life.

8th Grade: Beginning concepts of Theology of the Body, Introduction to Morality, and Introduction to Church History. This content encourages students to take seriously their humanity, sexuality, and personal choices (morality).

Language Arts (6th-8th Grade): Builds upon students’ prior knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, word usage, and the mechanics of writing, and includes the four aspects of language use: reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Reading (6th & 7th Grade): Builds upon students’ prior knowledge and skill in reading and will emphasize the use of language for different effects, in different contexts, and for different purposes.

Reading (8th Grade): Builds upon students’ prior knowledge and skill in reading. Various genres of literature will be used to improve reading skills and link exercises for different purposes to those reading selections.

6th Grade: Emphasizes skill sin numerical operations (including basic operations and their proper order); measurement; patterns; simple functions; geometry; and concepts of data analysis, including statistics and probability.

7th Grade: Emphasizes proficiency in skills involving numbers and operations; measurement; patterns; functions; algebraic formulas; geometry; and concepts of data analysis, including statistics and probability.

8th Grade: Emphasizes proficiency in skills involving numbers and operations, measurement, patterns, simple functions, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability.

6th-8th Grade: Builds on previous years of scientific inquiry and includes subject matter from several strands of science including earth/space sciences, physical sciences, and life or environmental sciences.

6th Grade: Provides a greater understanding of social studies disciplines including history, geography, civics and government, and economics. This course will focus on the history, culture, and government of various specific world societies.

7th Grade: Provides continued development of understanding and skills in the social studies disciplines: history, geography, civics and government, and economics.

8th Grade: Provides continued development of understanding and skills in the social studies disciplines: history, geography, civics and government, and economics. This course will focus on single disciplines at a time to develop discipline-related skills.

Keyboarding (6th Grade): Provides an introduction to the keyboard (letters, numbers, and symbols), basic machine operation, and proper keystroke technique. As students progress, they improve their speed and accuracy and produce increasingly complex documents.

Computers (7th Grade): During the fall semester, students gain knowledge of basic computer applications and other digital technologies that are available on the market today. Much of the spring semester is devoted to a variety of career exploration activities. Textbook work will be mixed in with “hands-on experience” using desktop computers and Chromebooks.

6th-8th Grade: Involves the acquisition of knowledge and skills that provide the foundation for sport, a physically active lifestyle, and social development through physical activity. Activities include those that increase strength, endurance, and flexibility; reinforce safe technique; teach the rules and conventions of games and sports; and explore the relationship between physical activity and health.

Vocal Music (6th-8th Grade): Further develop skills and understanding in Music History and Theory to include rhythmic and melodic sight reading. Students develop healthy singing habits to include proper diction, breath support, and stylistic differences across many genres of music. Finally, the students develop a deeper understanding of liturgical music and its role in the Mass throughout the liturgical year. 

General Band (6th-8th Grade): Develops students’ technique for playing brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments and covers a variety of non-specified band literature styles (concert, marching, orchestral, and modern styles).
