Band
Take a solo to contest, participate in all performances (pep band, concerts, clinics), be in band all 4 years, or at the discretion of the director.
Cheerleading
To receive a full letter the participant must cheer at all games, except with prior permission or emergency; attend practices and participate in other cheer functions. The cheer advisor has the option of awarding a letter at his/her own discretion based on whatever “special” circumstances may arise.
Football / Basketball (Girls and Boys)
The athlete shall have played in at least one-half of the quarters to receive a full letter. The coach will have the discretion to award a provisional letter when deemed appropriate.
Golf
The athlete shall participate in at least three varsity meets or qualify for the State meet. The coach shall have the discretion to award a provisional letter to athletes with special consideration.
Scholars Bowl
In order to attain a letter in Scholars Bowl, a student shall:
1) Attend practices as scheduled with a maximum of three excused absences.
2) Meet one of the following requirements:
**Participate in at least four varsity meets
**Participate in at least three junior varsity meets and two varsity meets
**Participate on the Regional/State team.
**For special circumstances, the coach may assign a letter even if a student has not met both requirements above
Speech & Drama
To receive a full letter a participant must qualify for the State Speech and Drama Festival. The instructor has the option of awarding a letter at his or her discretion based on whatever "special" circumstances may arise.
Track
The athlete shall meet at least one of the following criteria: score at least ten points in a track meet, place at the league track meet, or qualify for the State meet. The coach shall have the discretion to award a provisional letter when deemed appropriate.
Vocal Music
The student may letter if:
1. They qualify for the State Music Contest in an ensemble or solo performance by receiving a I rating at the Regional Music Contest.
2. They receive a I Rating at the State Choir/Band Contest. All students enrolled in vocal music are members of the high school choir.
3. They are enrolled in music all four years of high school.
4. They diligently prepare and enter vocal solos for Regional Music Contest for at least three years.
5. They may or may not receive a letter based on any special circumstances that might arise, at the discretion of the coach.
Volleyball
The athlete shall have played in at least one-half of the varsity matches to receive a full letter. The coach will have the discretion to award a provisional letter when deemed appropriate.
